Murray Freedom Counseling therapy office

Trauma & anxiety therapy for women in Illinois & Missouri (Metro-East & Telehealth)

You’ve tried to push through on your own, but something still feels stuck. At Murray Freedom Counseling, therapy is a collaborative process where your story is honored, your strengths are celebrated, and your growth unfolds safely, one step at a time.

If you relate to Joy, you might find yourself wanting to overlook difficult to focus on essential life responsibilities. However, in therapy, we don't dismiss feelings or act as if painful memories aren't real. We create a safe space for them, understanding that every emotion has its purpose. Together, we can delve into what causes pain, let those emotions flow and let go of what you no longer need to bear. The isn't to eliminate your experiences or to stop feeling anxious forever, but to address the underlying needs that your emotions reveal.

"I'll just tell Anxiety not to worry so much anymore. And then she'll say 'Wow, Joy! I didn't think of that, thank you!!'"

-Joy, Inside Out 2

Meet Your Trauma Therapist in Illinois

I’m Brandy Murray, LCSW... and if there’s one thing I’ve learned in this work, it’s that connection heals more than any technique ever could.

My speciality is working with overwhelmed, high-achieving women who grew up in emotionally complex families untangle shame, quiet their inner critic, and learn how to set boundaries without guilt.

A relaxed first conversation to explore your needs, learn about my approach, and see if our work together feels supportive and aligned.

To create lasting change by processing what hurts, strengthening self-trust, and helping you move forward with more clarity, resilience, and emotional freedom.

To integrate insights and skills between sessions so healing continues in everyday life, not just in the therapy room.
